Literary Programs

The literary branch of ArtReach is excited to become an incubator for high quality literary opportunities consistent with the ArtReach mission of connecting the community to the arts.  It is our goal to provide purposeful experiences that will resonate with the participants in inspiring and relevant ways.   Success will be measured in how participants are impacted and to what extent they have benefited from the experience. books

The role of our literary committee is evolving as we begin to explore ways to move the mission into action.  Five initiatives have been targeted for action:

1.  To create a space at ArtReach to serve writers – a place where writers can write, read, share and critique.  A place where creativity can be tested and explored.

2.  To provide workshops and classes in all aspects of the writing process.

3.  To engage the public in conversations/readings with both emerging, as well as established writers.

4.  To build support groups and writers’ groups as needed.

5.  To plan and carry out an annual signature event.

The ArtReach literary branch believes we can contribute significantly with exploration and encouragement in the literary community.  Our vision is to be inclusive of all ability levels and to extend participation to not only residents of the St. Croix Valley but to those outside our area as well.
